Part II

"I do (swear) in the name of God.......what I shall state be the truth..."
Aditya Verma is taking oath from the witness box. He has some important information regarding this case; the prosecution announced just a minute ago.

Aditya Verma is a handsome man with well built body and balanced weight. Today, he has dressed in formal light blue shirt, which has fine checks on it and navy blue trousers. His hair are well set. I can't see his footwear but I guess it must be a black brogue which he usually prefers.
Although he has attended all the proceedings but he's standing in the witness box for the very first time. There's no sign of nervousness on his face, rather, he seems calm and composed. His confident gesture is making him seem a law abiding, a gentleman, which he is.

"You may proceed." The judge orders.
The judge has that typical personality, the one which can be easily observed in movies.

"My lord.." continues Aditya with some more confidence.
"I am Aditya Verma and I work at Singhaniya's industry which is owned by none other than Mr. Vardhan Singhaniya and I'm currently posted at Search Executive and talent." He stated proudly.
"My lord the lady who is under judicial custody for this case is UNFORTUNATELY MY FIANCE who killed her own father for the sake of his wealth. My lord she is a wolfish, a bitch!" he claims and wishes to continue but is interrupted. The man who looks so calm and composed, a clear gentleman, soon turns into a churl.

Defence attorney objects him for the kind of language he had just used and the judge sustains the objection.
I was sighing in relief.

I personally do accept that I've committed a crime for which I can't be pardoned. I know that nobody will ever stand by me on this. I even accept the fact that nobody should support me.
But never did I expect something like this coming, that too from a man, whom I loved the most.
In the past twenty days, I went through many phases which were all so painful that I was in tears but the words that he uttered "Unfortunately my fiance", "wolfish, a bitch" freezed me to the core. A weird silence prevails within, I was loosing something, called faith. His words felt as if he never loved me. Each moment of the past three years seems like an illusion in which I believed as much as I beleive in God. Alas!

"Oh, so she is your fiance?" Prosecution questions.
"No, not anymore! I can't spend my love and the only life on such a gold-digger."
"Objection my lord!" Defence attorney interrupts.
"Objection sustained. Such words will not be accepted and I shall hold you in contempt the next time." The judge warns.

"I apologise your honour!" Aditya asks for forgiveness showing no sign of regret at all.

"Come to the point Mr. Verma." The prosecution requested.

"Sure! Your honour, Ms. Heeral Singhaniya has confessed to me multiple times that how badly she hated her father that too since childhood. Mr. Singhaniya was a short-tempered man. He often used to get angry over silly things and used to beat his wife on silly matters. Not only this, Ms. Heeral was a neglected child for him because she has a visibly spread birth mark on whole of her left neck. He hated ugly people. Heeral has herself told this to me", he exposes Singhaniyas in a go this way.

"But how is this related to the case Mr. Verma?" The defence attorney questions a bit agressively.

"It is related sir, it is indeed related! She always feared that her father won't give her any share in his possessions as he never liked her. But, she always wanted to be in complete control of Singhaniya industry. This was impossible till he's alive as it was clear that he'll pass on his property to his only son Mr. Ayan Singhaniya!" He elaborates.
"Now does this make sense Mr. Parekh Singh?" The prosecution teases the defence attorney.

Mr. Parekh is a govt. lawyer by profession as well as by personality- a middle aged bald man with a heavy belly. On the other hand, Mr. Raghav Patel is our family lawyer who proudly denied to take my case and was standing by my father even in his absence. He is a smart and intelligent lawyer, afterall he was Mr. Singhaniya's choice!

"Can you add some more relevance for Mr. Parekh? He doesn't seems to be satisfied!" The prosecution said jokingly in a unique style.

Mr. Parekh pays no heed to his words and expressions.

"Mr. Verma can you please narrate the previous incident where Ms. Heeral Singhaniya tried to kill her father but couldn't succeed? I think this will give a new angle to the case", the prosecution demands. He has come pretty well prepared.

My heart started sinking. I was losing my senses. This is the only thing I was afraid of. Today, maybe luck was just not with me like earlier! I now fear being alleged, being tossed publicly. I fear being called by disgraceful names. These are the most dreadful things in the world which I'm going through each and every second!

"Of course sir, I wanted to do it earlier but couldn't as she was very important to me, she was the love of my life! But now I only want justice. I want justice for the person whom I owe a lot. I want that big-hearted man to rest in peace, I want him to rest in peace my lord..." He started to stammer, few tears ran off.

"Objection my lord!" Mr. Parekh shouts. "Objection overruled." The judge denies.
The prosecution bows to the judge.

I am hearing it all with a heavy heart. The man who is an ideal for the society is being alleged for domestic violence that too by his own employee. I can feel the esteem of my family being abolished but I know there's a lot more left. So I prepared myself a bit taking a deep breath.

"Your honour, this girl tried to kill him before also but in vain!" Aditya reveals. Seriously, he has lot to say.

"What? Can you please repeat Mr. Verma, I couldn't hear!"

"Objection my L-O-R-D!", Mr. Parekh said with a bang on the table.
Both, the prosecution and defence attorney get a warning for their misbehavior.

"Which weapon did she use? Do you have any idea?" The prosecution tries to go into the depth of the crime scene.

"I have no idea sir. But she always wanted a gun! Why, I don't know", he states.

"That's it your honour. That's it. Now I think everything is clear in this case. It's clear that on the night of 10th September 2017, whatever happened was not an act of defence but a well planned murder, a cold-blooded murder, and my lord I am hundred percent sure that she has hidden the gun which she used in murder to mislead the investigation. Also the investigating team has recovered the rat poison from the backyard of the house. My lord here's the forensic report that clarifies the presence of rat poison in his body as well as in the chicken Biryani which causes him to puke badly. Ms. Heeral took that as an opportunity and shot the man dead! The window of Mr. Singhaniya's room open into the backyard which clarifies that Ms. Heeral threw it after successfully adding it in his food.
See my lord, everything is clear." The prosecution justified its claims.

"Intention of owning a gun doesn't make them have it Mr. Raghav Patel. Also, there is no evidence which can prove that rat poison belongs to her! It's a court Mr. & has nothing to do with self made stories and assumptions." Mr. Parekh replies firmly.

"You are only wasting the time of the court Mr. Parekh. There's no point of discussion left. The intentions are clear. The evidences are against her...What else do you want?" Objects the prosecution.

"A lot more is left Mr. Raghav Patel just let me have some time," Mr. Parekh requests.

"The court is adjourned for the day", the honourable judge thus concludes the debate.

(Last part will be out most probably by the end of this week)
